Remember when it was just a few weeks before you were due to give birth? And you thought you had to get every cleaning and/or home improvement project that you've ever wanted to do done within the next three weeks? Well, that's pretty much my current state of mind. Andrew too. In the past week alone, we've built shelves in the pantry and in our playroom closet (thanks, Dad), finished residing the shed (thanks, Andrew and Dad), replaced our downstairs toilet (thank God Dad is retired), painted the ceiling and trim in the downstairs bathroom (Andrew -- but I offered to do it!), and reorganized just about every closet we have. I know it sounds like I haven't done anything, but don't forget, someone has to watch Emma while the guys are doing the work. And I'm also 8 months pregnant and still working full time/commuting. Anyway. What's left to do?
- do taxes
- paint shed
- reupholster dining room chairs (I'm totally serious)
- clean car (i.e. get rid of the raisins, pretzels, and goldfish mashed into the seat by Emma)
- scour the entire house (have you ever seen a very pregnant woman move a couch to vacuum before?)
- cook some meals to have when the baby arrives
- pack hospital bag, install car seat (two things I'd had done weeks earlier when pregnant with Emma)
- wait, worry, go to the Dr. a million times
- have baby
It's getting harder and harder to focus on anything else. April is just around the corner.
