Snap, crackle, pop

So, Emma has pneumonia again this winter. Not the best way to ring in the new year, but I know she'll be fine. It's not that it's not serious or anything (although so far we haven't had to take her to the hospital, knock on wood), but this just seems to be the way her little body deals with bad colds. It all goes to her lungs. And we're kind of used to that.

But that's not why I'm blogging. I want to share another funny three-year-old moment. One of the nights that Emma's breathing was particularly bad, I had to wake her up to do a nebulizer treatment. Understandably, she was not happy. I said, "I'm so sorry, Emma, but your chest is just crackling so much. We have to do this." She replied, "Mommy, maybe it's because I ate too much cereal." Now maybe I'm delirious from lack of sleep, but I thought that was really cute.

Anyway, thank you to the Jewells for making our weekend brighter. We were thrilled to have you in Easton. And even though Emma wasn't feeling her best, she enjoyed every second she shared with Annie and Timmy and is already talking about more sleepovers in the future. (Ones where she's healthy and actually gets to sleep with the kids!) Thank you so much for making the trip to MA, too. I know it's a long one. We love you.

Stay healthy, everyone, and happy new year!
