This morning Emma caught me staring at my bookshelf instead of paying attention to her. She asked, "Mommy, why aren't you talking to me?" I responded, "Oh, I'm just looking at my books to decide which ones to take to the beach on our vacation. Maybe we should pick some of your books to take with us too." Emma excitedly responded, "Yes. Probably we should take Little Toot because there are boats in it just like at the beach." I know I'm her mom and I'm biased, but come on! What an astute observation. I was totally impressed with her smart thinking and I told her so.
