Two conversations

I started this blog to record all things Emma, but I haven’t done a very good job keeping up. Whoops! Things just get so busy. Too busy. Anyway, Emma's vocabulary and conversation skills have exploded recently. Here are a couple of conversations I definitely don't want to forget.

On Thanksgiving Day in Marblehead:
Elinor: Emma, you're such a hot ticket.
Emma: I'm not hot, I'm warm.
Elinor: OK, you're a warm ticket.
Emma: I'm not a ticket, I'm Emma.

In a hospital waiting room:
Little old lady to Emma: Hello, cutie. How old are you?
Emma to the little old lady: Your hands are wrinkled. Did you go in the bathtub?
Little old lady to me (clearly not understanding): Oh, she's such a doll.

And just for the record, Emma was in the hospital for two nights last week with pneumonia. (She's much better now.) She was a wonderful patient, although when I told her to wave goodbye to the hospital as we left, she said, "I don't like you, hospital." Smart girl.
