Color my words
Being a mom is funny sometimes. You put in all this time and effort and a lot of it's just just because you have to. It's not like there is always instant gratification or anything. But the truth is: it's worth it. I'm not saying it's easy or all fun and games, but every now and then something really awesome happens and it reminds you why you do what you do. Like this week, for instance. A couple of things just "clicked" for Emma. She got a new Lego set today and the first thing she did when she dumped out the blocks was to identify all their colors. We've been trying and trying to get her to learn colors. And today, she finally just knew them. Another proud moment was when we walked out of the pediatrician's office on Tuesday (conjunctivitis, yuck!) and Emma pointed out, "Mommy's car." Then this morning she recognized, "Mommy's coffee." And finally, she just pointed out, "Emma's shoes." This two-word thing is brand new and I must say I'm very proud. I mean, all Emma has to do to make me happy is to just be herself. But it's such an amazing feeling to know that Emma is really listening, learning, and soaking everything in.

Congratualtions on being such great parents and patient too! You deserve a lot of credit for her gains. Just keep reading to her and she'll keep surprising you.
Love, Me
That's awesome!!! (not about the pink eye) but everything else! Unless of course Emma looked in the mirror and said "Pink eye" :)
