Happy Birthday, Elmo.

For those of you who don't know this already, Tuesday was Elmo's birthday. Please don't ask me how old he his; I have no clue. And frankly, after my disastrous Elmo cookie baking experience, I don't care. I am posting a picture of the cookies for the following reasons:

1. To share with the world my vow to never make them again.
2. To warn the rest of the world to never make them either.
3. To brag. After all the time, effort, and mess, I want a little recognition. (So please leave comments about how adorable they are and how very much the look like the real Elmo.)

Anyway. I'm only half kidding. If Emma really wanted Elmo cookies, I'd make them again. I'd probably use a different recipe and make her help, but whatever. The real lesson I learned is that I'm not taking on any further Martha Stewart-type projects until Emma can ask for them herself. She won't even remember these cookies; she's too little to care. Although she did beg me for one at breakfast time when she saw them, so that was cute. Was it worth it?

Happy Birthday, Elmo, you furry little pain in the butt!

Why in the name of Abraham Lincoln would you undertake such a task?

PS-
They look so much like Elmo I thought they were the real Elmo. They look more like Elmo than Elmo looks like Elmo. Well done!

Awesome job! Welcome to another phase of motherhood. We seem to do things we think we'd never do for our priceless angels. The projects will only get better and as nice as it is, when they want to help, it sometimes makes it even more challenging.

Super cookies!!

Love you lots Martha.

I'm impressed beyond words- Martha has nothing on you! Can you bake them for my baby shower? (Just kidding) It's a shame they don't make those in the slice and bake variety! Can't wait to see your next creation!
