As silly as it sounds, Emma's first birthday was one of the most happy and proud days of my life. Yes, it was a party for Emma, but it was also a party for Andrew and me. Taking care of a baby is hard work, and it felt terrific to look back over the year and realize that hey, we're not doing such a bad job. Emma is healthy, happy, and loved. She's everything we ever could have hoped for in a little girl...and then some. She enjoyed seeing friends and family, taking rides in her new red wagon, and eating her very first cupcake. The weather was perfect and we just couldn't have asked for a more fun or joyous occasion. Thanks to everyone who helped to make Emma's first birthday a special one. What a truly awesome day.

Happy 1st birthday my darling Emma. Your birthday party was one of the most special days of my life. Thank you to everyone there! And thank you Amy for an amazing year. I can't believe how far we have come and I look forward to all the great memories ahead. I can't get enough Emma Smiles! They're the best!
