Bumpy ride
Parenting is not for the faint of heart, especially when your little one is crawling, climbing, and thinks she knows how to walk (but really has no balance). Emma falls over, bumps her head, or whacks herself all the time lately. It doesn't matter how close and eye we keep on her, she still manages to find trouble. Last week she even whacked her forehead on my tooth. (That should give you an indicator of how close to her I was.) She also pulled a book off a shelf, hit her face, and gave herself a little black eye for a day or two. Yikes! (Andrew gets credit for that one.) She bounces back quickly, though, and is immediately raring to go. I kind of think it's harder on Andrew and me since Emma instantly forgets what happened. Andrew and I, on the other hand, feel like the most rotten parents in the world every time she cries. I guess it's a learning process for everyone involved. Practice makes perfect, right? We'll make it through...as long as the bumps and bruises don't get too serious.
