Lucky me

My mom and I are both attending funerals this weekend, to pay respect to a parent who lost a child. Mine is to support a family friend whose daughter died unexpectedly of causes TBD. (They think it was a complication with some medication she was taking.) My mom's is for the young daughter of one of her coworkers who died in a weather-related car crash last week. Anyway. It's almost too sad to bear. I can't even begin to imagine what the parents are going through. I don't even want to think about ever losing Emma. I can't. I won't. What I'd rather focus on is how very lucky I am right now.
