I'm up to 7-8 pills a day. This is ridiculous! I've got my prenatal vitamin and an extra dose of folic acid. (My prenatal has 800 mcg.; I take an extra 400 mcg. Most doctors recommend you take anywhere between 800-1200 during pregnancy. Since I still have pretty strong aversions to vegetables, I figure it's good to be on the higher end.) OK, so that's two pills. Then add on calcium (plus vitamin D) which I've been taking forever. Then comes my Lipil DHA supplement for all the fish that's missing from my diet. (I can count the number of times I've eaten fish during my pregnancy on one hand, I think.) That makes it four pills, right? I also can't live without at least one or two Zantac 75 nowadays and on really bad days, I take three. (I'm allowed a max of four.) I've already mentioned an occasional Colace and/or fiber pill, and now I need to take an iron supplement. Apparently, I'm anemic. ("Mildly" so according to the doctor.) Why not, right? Just add another pill to the list! Who needs a college fund anyway? I'd rather just spend my money on vitamins.
