50 Days...and other stuff

Yup. Just 50 days (or hopefully a few less) until Baby G. arrives. I can't believe it. The time is flying by and I hope it continues to do so. I have a feeling the last few weeks might drag a little, though. And the countdown continues...

I was really nervous about yesterday. It was our annual company outing, which meant a two-hour drive (each way) to Connecticut and a day of 90+ degree weather and high humidity, much of which was spent outdoors. Andrew was nice enough to take the day off to go with me. I don't think I could have done it without him. (Thanks, hubby!) My ankles were, well, missing by the time we got home. And I'm a little sore today, but overall it was pretty fun. I even managed to waddle myself down to the beach (Rocky Neck State Park) a couple of times to stick my feet in the water.

I guess I'm at that stage in my pregnancy where people just don't know what to say...so whatever spills out of their mouth is pretty lame. Some of the comments I received yesterday were, "Wow! You're
REALLY pregnant." And, "Are you sure you're not due now?" Um, yes, I'm sure. Or, "I haven't seen you from the side for a while; that's impressive!" *Sigh* Come on, people. How about commenting on the happy and positive attitude I'm trying so damn hard to maintain? Is it really necessary to comment on my largeness? What about a simple, "Congratulations?" Oh, a lady at the post office recently asked me if I was having twins. That was a good one too. Well, at least the end is in sight.

Your belly has a healthy, beautiful baby in it! And you look the same way, completely happy, relaxed, healthy and beautiful!

This is not as terrible as when you finally have a chance to shop alone AFTER Emma is born, and someone asks you when you are due.

Nothing like 4 hours in the car and 97 degree temperature for a pregnant lady.

I told Amy to start answering dumb remarks sarcastically by saying... 8 months left to go or I'm having octuplets or something like that.
