Tips from my favorite west coast mom: MUST HAVE SWING. NOT AN OPTION. Some sort of infant chair with do-dads hanging around. Chase lived in the same vibrating one that Miranda used for Grady on SITC. Apparently, your three year-old will need a Thomas bouncing ball. Chase won't let go of his! Get the playpen/bassinet that will pack up. Valuable for sleeping newborns in living room and/or traveling, and can be used later for playpen. I also loved the extra bassinet for the bathroom. If you like to shower EVER you may need one. Infant car seats that fit into strollers are handy. And the Ergo Baby Carrier--BETTER THAN ANY OTHER! I speak from the experience of owning the others, and the ergo will last for toddlers to 50 pounds! I could go on and on...Gates, many gates...And lots of burp cloths and onesies. Sounds cliché, but you can never have enough of ‘em, especially when you can't do laundry...Did I say I could go on and on?
