Anyway, I think I'm going just a bit overboard. (But please don't say so; I'm also super hormonal and could burst into tears at any time.) I feel like everything needs to be perfect, as if we will never be able to do another chore once the baby arrives. We were able to check a few things off the list this week, which is good. We got the car seat installed and inspected by the fire department. We recovered a footstool to go with the rocking chair in the baby's room. My shower thank you notes are about 2/3 done and later today, I plan to make room in one of our cupboards for baby stuff.
That being said, we still have a lot to do. Here's the list:
- Shower thank you notes (24/37 completed)
- Attend breastfeeding class: 7/19
- Interview pediatrician #2: 7/27
- Pack hospital bag—in progress
- Finish decorating baby room
- Get rugs cleaned
- Get apartment cleaned
- Clean oven
- Wash and re-hang curtains
- Make space in cupboards for bottles, etc.
- Change locks—in progress
- Get new batteries for fire alarms
- Buy/install a carbon monoxide detector
- Get a chain ladder for the back porch
- Make and freeze some meals
- Make last minute purchases for any baby stuff we still need (like diapers and a changing pad!)
- Buy a car
- Buy a new vacuum (Dyson world, here we come!)
- Buy a camcorder

Ha! Three and a half years later, and my list is the same! I have a Dyson though. YOU WILL LOVE IT, and yet, be repulsed at the same time at the stuff coming out of your carpet!
Add to that list all the other house chores (recaulk the tubs, replace the grill rocks, weed out storage area, clean used baby toys) and all the ladscaping I have to do outside (mow the 78 acres of lawn, rip out some bushes, trim the bushes, cut overhanging branches). I like how all the expensive things to do are at the bottom of the list. Oh, just tack on buy a car, vacuum, and camcorder. Dyson - check! Although I think there's some assembly required, so add that. It's all good though and the baby's room is looking great! One last thing to add to that list: Get second job? No. HAVE BABY!!!
Update: Grill rocks replaced, add put together Eliptical Machine that's been in box since Amy got pregnant.
-Only 5 more thank you’s to go
-Breastfeeding class: check
-Clear shelf in cupboards: check
-Last minute purchases being made today
-Dyson: check
